Welcome to Apryl's Angel's Family Day Care

Hello my name is Apryl Watford. I am the owner of Apryl's Angels Family Child Care. I am a wife and a proud mother of two wonderful children. I have been married for seven years now, to a wonderful Navy man named Keith. We are parents of Charaya who is 9 and Nathan who is 6. My two child both attend school at sedgefield elementary.

I have been doing home daycare for over 4 years now. Prior to doing home daycare I was a hospital corpman in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. After getting out of the Navy I wanted to go back to school and stay home with our children. So I took some child care course and got certified by the state of California. Then my husband and I received orders to Newport News,Va. Once moving here to Newport News, Va we have bought our first home and have turned the whole backside of the house into a home daycare center.

I take great pride and pleasure in the care I provide for daycare children. I am continousily taking updated child caring courses and staying updated on new laws a long with taking early childhood education courses. I am attending school now for my Business Administration Degree and that will be completed the summer of 2008.

At Apryl's Angels daycare center we believe the children should have the most fun possible in a days time. So to complete that task we do art projects, daily academic sheets and weekly field trips. I also feel that children learn and function better when they are in an a structured enviroment and they are involved in daily programs. So to acheive that structured enviroment we have daily story time, lesson time and we learn new songs everyday.

I believe that my daycare kids are an extention of my own family and once the parents sign a contract with Apryl's Angels you can be relieved that their child will be having fun in a heavenly place, while their parents are out at work.

Apryl's Angels Family Child Care Center, our number one concerns are for the children to have fun, excel and learn in a safe environment. To achieve these goals we have a structured learning and playful environment.

Our academic program is based on the goals that are set by the school boards in and out of state. Our craft activities are not just for fun but we at the center always make sure the activities have a learning twist. At Apryl's Angel's, we insure the activities and lessons that we use will challenge your childs' imagination along with their critical thinking skills.

We also like to take full advantage of some of the wonderful resources that the state of Virgina has to offer such as history,nature and fun outdoor activities. We take the children on weekly field trips. Examples are the Virigina Zoo, Blue Bird Gap farm, Bush Gardens and local museums. And, there are many more trips that we have taken and are in our future plans.
